Earth Day 2021 Earth Day is a big day at Westgate and this year is no different, although the way we celebrate looks a little different. What is staying the same is our committment to service learning and environmental education! Ms. Chandra Valenza, our Environmental Education Specialist, has been working with both teachers and students to digitally share the student's efforts. Please visit our Service Learning Webpages to see what the students have been up to. We are really excited to partner with the National Wildlife Federation and the West Adams Conservation District to give away 100 free trees to our community on Earth Day. Response for either a Rocky Mountain Juniper or a Ponderosa Pine large tube tree (15-18" tall) was more than we expected, which was great! We'd also like to thank Altitude Arborist for lending their subject matter expertise. We're dedicated to becoming a 1:1 plant school and being able to share our enthusiam for trees and the environment is exactly what we're here for.
